  • Large project management in oil and gas
    Published on Dec 3, 2014
Large oil projects are becoming increasingly complex and technologically demanding, and require companies to balance concerns about budgets, safety and environmental impact. However, a consistent framework with formalized phases, clear accountability, empowered teams and constant review can help major projects succeed, says Roberto Nava, a partner in the Oil and Gas practice, in this short video.

This video gives insight into the real world demands placed on Alberta Project Managers in the oil and gas industry. Also known as Oil and Gas Consultants, these individuals manage multi million dollar budgets sometimes on a monthly basis. They require a wide range of project management skills in order to ensure top production from the projects, equipment and labour forces they supervise. Covering areas in the hundreds of kilometers, it is not uncommon for an oil and gas Project Manager to be in charge of up to 80 pieces of equipment and the support staff who keep them running.
